John Telford is my 3 times great grandfather. He came from Ireland to Canada, then to Kirtland, Ohio, then Nauvoo, Illinois, to Bountiful, Utah and finally ended in Richmond, Utah. He had two wives and seventeen children. He lived a full live of 94 years.

James married Sarah Merrifield on July 8, 1849, at Tahowan, England. After their marriage, Sarah taught him the ABC’s and he then learned to read. He became a prolific reader and could talk intelligently on most subjects.

I recently finished a Novel, “The Secrets She Keeps”, by Michael Robothan. The story is about two women in a London suburb, who each have a secret. Their paths cross and their lives become intertwined. In the end one kept her secret and the other’s was exposed.
Are secrets good or bad? Do they hurt us or help us? I am not sure I can answer these questions completely. But this much I do know, there are some secrets that can cause us a lot of pain. Since I have found myself quoting from this book a lot lately, I thought I would share the book review and a few of my thoughts.
I have completed posting our Greek trip.
You may ask (probably not) why it took so long to post the pictures from our trip to Greece. All I can say is that there were a lot of pictures that I had to sift through and enhance. So, what you see on these pages is a small percentage of all pictures that we took. Consider this, two people, who both love to take a lot of pictures, digital cameras with large SD cards and laptops to unload all the pictures each night. This can lead to a lot, I mean a lot, of pictures to go through.
I just finished a book about the historic world plagues.
“Get Well Soon: History’s Worst Plagues and the Heroes Who Fought Them” by Jennifer Wright.
The other day I opened my email and found the following from my niece Emily (now serving an LDS Mission in Chile):
Hey uncle!
Hey, I´ve got a favor to ask…. So, we’ve got this investigator, (well, sort of. He’s actually not an investigator because he’s a less active member) and he’s really struggling because he had a great mormon life. He served a mission, he got married in the temple. But now he’s divorced, and has been for quite a few years, and he feels like he did everything right and he had his eternal family, and then it didn’t work so obviously the church doesn’t work. And I thought of you. Because you’ve been through that, and your still strong, and that’s so cool. He has a girlfriend that he lives with now and they have a son, and I really want to help him see that he can have an eternal family still and it’ll all be okay, and I was wondering if you could send me your testimony of the gospel and of families and God and whatever else. I mean, you don’t have to, but I think it might help him to see someone else who understands sort of what he’s gone through and still has that testimony.
