This life we have comes with heartache, failures and in general everyday struggles that can bring us down. It occurs to me that struggles are the basic building blocks that in time bring us happiness and understanding. Without a struggle, we could not grow or improve our lives. My muscles need some type of resistance to become stronger. If I stop reading and learning new things, my brain will atrophy. At work, if I coast and stop looking for innovative ways of improving the system, I become lazy and the process I support will become outdated. This life as we know it, needs resistance and struggles to help push us into the next level of understanding. We may not achieve what we initially set out to accomplish, but in the end, if we don’t give up, we will experience an understanding that we here to for could never have gained and I would suggest a new found joy. I Love Spring
Spring time has so much beauty. New life beginning, old life coming out of the winter hibernation to show off its best self. I took a couple of photos showing the beginnings of what is to come. Each beautiful in its own way
Change
I have heard the quote, “The only two constants in life are Death and Taxes”. I would like to add another constant, that of “Change”. In today’s world Change is happening so fast that we now accept it as normal and yet it is still hard to comprehend at times. Continue reading Change

Recently I listened to a book written by Will Bowen: “Happy This Year!: The Secret to Getting Happy Once and for All”. There are a number of thought-provoking stories and life experiences that help the reader consider what it takes to be happy. Einstein and Religion
I recently finished a book called “Einstein’s Cosmos” about the life of Albert Einstein and his theories. I am fascinated with the man and his understanding of the unknown. How he was able to see scientific theories without having the means to test them. He loved to consider and solve issues about the Cosmos and Relativity. He was not much into religion, but he did have a respect for it.
He was a master at one liners and come backs. As I learned about his life and history, there was one quote that stood out in my mind:
Tuesdays with Morrie
Two things happened this week, that gave me thought to what this life is all about. The first happened on Friday, November 13, 2015. The Terrorist Attack that took place in Paris, France. The second, happened on Saturday, November 14, 2015, the funeral of a person I know knew and loved, my dad’s sister Aunt ZoAnn Simmons. Continue reading Tuesdays with Morrie
The Passage of Time
This past week my Aunt Zoann, my father’s older sister of two years, passed away at the age of 83. As I reflect on her life, it brings back a flood of memories of my youth. I spent a lot of time at her house playing with my cousins. Continue reading The Passage of Time
Learning Brings Less Fear
I recently read the above quote on Facebook. I had to stop for a minute and think about what this meant. Continue reading Learning Brings Less Fear
Compassion
I was watching the news last night and one of the stories discussed was about compassion. How seventy-seven cities around the world have come together to show more compassion towards those living in the city, hoping to reduce crime and hardships in those places. What they have found is with compassion comes change and improvement. Continue reading Compassion
