I am excited to announce that I have finalized our trip to Italy. Tonya and I will be traveling to Italy in June 2016. Continue reading Italy Trip Planned
Battle Creek Canyon Flag
Below is the story of the Flag flying across the mouth of the Battle Creek Canyon in Pleasant Grove. The flag was also strung across the canyon for 9/11. That is when I took the following picture. It was a beautiful sight to behold. Continue reading Battle Creek Canyon Flag

The Reunion Gathering
This has been a good week for me. I have had all my children, with their children visiting for most of the week. Rebeca with her family up from Las Vegas, Rachel with her girls down from Boise, Maegen with her family from Pocatello. Chad and Michelle have been here for the week, taking a break from the work/vacation summer job. Continue reading The Reunion Gathering
Stadium of Fire
Tonya and I went to the Stadium of Fire Freedom event on July 4th, held in the Lavell Edwards Stadium at BYU in Provo, Utah. It was an exiting event, that ended in a spectacular show of fireworks. I usually wouldn’t spend that much money for tickets, but since the band Journey would be there, I had to get tickets. Journey is one of Tonya’s all time favorite bands. Hawaii June 20, 2015 – Day 9
We are home. I think we lost a night somewhere between here and Kono. I slept some on the flight from Kono to Phoenix. We were able to get the exit row and this time we both had leg room, though I had more because I also had the isle way. I stretched out and slept. It was one of those fitful sleeps where you are continually waking up to re-adjust something. Tonya didn’t sleep at all. She said that she slept more on the flight from Phoenix to Salt Lake than she did on the one from Kona. But, we are home and she is now sleeping in her bed.
Hawaii June 19, 2015 – Day 8
I am sitting in the Kono airport waiting to board our flight. Our flight leaves Kono at 10:45 p.m. and arrives in Phoenix at 7:30 a.m. We then leave Phoenix around 10:05 a.m. and arrive in Salt Lake at 12:44 p.m. So this will make for a long night. Continue reading Hawaii June 19, 2015 – Day 8
Hawaii June 18, 2015 – Day 7
Here we are at day 7 of the week. This the last full day and night we have in Hawaii. It has been a lot of fun. We have seen a lot of amazing things and gained a lot more understanding of the Hawaiian culture. Granted, Hawaii has been Americanized a great deal, but there are still some differences. Continue reading Hawaii June 18, 2015 – Day 7
Hawaii June 17, 2015 – Day 6
This morning I received a call at 9 a.m. Utah time, which means 5 a.m. Hawaii time. So I decided to get up and do my Day 5 post, since I didn’t have time to do it last night. Then Tonya woke up at 6:30 a.m. and we had some toast and hard boiled eggs. We then met the shuttle bus at 7:30 a.m. We started the bus tour around 8 a.m. and then spent the next 12 hours on this tour. Continue reading Hawaii June 17, 2015 – Day 6
Hawaii June 16, 2015 – Day 5
Tonya made a comment on Sunday that this week was going to go by too fast. My comment back was no faster than any other week. The difference with this week is that we have packed a lot into the week and we will be on the go, which will make the week seem to go by in a hurry. Knowing this, we just have to enjoy it while it lasts and focus on the moment and not the end. Continue reading Hawaii June 16, 2015 – Day 5
