The Start of it All

Richard (Dick) Denning (Dad) married Leann Rigby (Mom) on Friday, February 15, 1957.

Dick and Leann's Wedding

Their courtship started with a blind date arranged by Leo Rigby, mom’s brother.   They went to a dance and as Mom tells the story, she was dancing with a lot of other boys and Dick was not happy with her and told her that he had brought her to the dance and he was going to dance with her, not everyone else (mom could shed more light on this story).

They dated for a couple more weeks and then Dad left on an LDS mission.  So their correspondence was through the mail for two years.   Dad returned home from his mission at the end of 1956 and they were married in February.

This was the start of 63 years of marital bliss (well not sure about the bliss part, but it was good).  They had 4 children, and these 4 then had 17, and so on.

My Father, Dick Denning, passed away in December 2020.  I would like to keep him alive in all of us and we can do this by writing down all the stories we remember about him.  With that in mind, we can keep the whole family alive with stories/histories of us.

Please share and enlighten all of us to the colorful legacy left behind by Richard (Dick) Denning…

Please subscribe and I will add you as a contributor so that you can create posts.

Thank you.
