Stadium of Fire

Tonya and I went to the Stadium of Fire Freedom event on July 4th, held in the Lavell Edwards Stadium at BYU in Provo, Utah.  It was an exiting  event, that ended in a spectacular show of fireworks.  I usually wouldn’t spend that much money for tickets, but since the band Journey would be there, I had to get tickets.  Journey is one of Tonya’s all time favorite bands.

The whole event was great.  There were a number of acts, but all things focused around Journey and then the fireworks.  We did have to remember that this was not a Journey Concert, but a program about Freedom.  Journey’s all time most popular song and Tonya’s favorite, was not played, “Open Arms”.  She was a bit disappointed about that, but overall it was a great show.  I took a bunch of video and a few pictures that I will post on my Events Page.

Montell Williams was the MC of the program and did a great job.  Mostly, he,  being a retired Lieutenant  Colonel in the Navy,  spoke of our freedoms and how precious they are and that we need to always stay vigilant against those that would try to remove those freedoms from our lives.  Speeches like this always cause reflection and gratitude for those that have gone before and continue to this day in the fight for freedom and justice.  I believe there are times when we forget how great this country is.  All you have to do is talk with someone who has come to live in the U.S.A from another country to really understand how good it is here.  Not that everything is perfect, but that we do have freedoms that most other countries don’t offer or allow.  God Bless this great Country.
