Our Palm Springs vacation took place from July 4 through July 12, 2003. The vacation was a total of 8 days and a lot fun. We rented two condos at the Marriott Resort in Palm Desert, California.

I put together this little journal of our travels. I have tried to explain the pictures and activities that we enjoyed during the week. For those activities where there were no pictures, I have brought some picture down from the internet and I will do my best to remember the day.
The vacation was a very enjoyable time. The average daily temperature in Palm Desert was around 115°. Yes, it was warm, but we didn't complain and if we did, it didn't do any good. We had the Pool and the condos were air conditioned. We spent some time in the cars traveling, but that was a given. There were no problems or incidents along the way.
I hope you enjoy the following as much as we enjoyed the vacation.

Trip to Palm Desert |
This was a day of recovery. After spending all day in the car the previous day, we were not anxious to even get near the cars. We spent the day swimming and just looking around. Also we had to get acclamated to the heat. It was hot, around 115 degrees. We also spent some time at the grocery store getting some food for the week. We had paired up and each pair was responsible for dinner one night.
The Pools were a nice relief and we enjoyed them during the week. There were two Pools that we used, one by each of the condos. The following link shows a few of the pictures that were taken at the Pool.

Huntington Beach, California We decided that Monday would be spent on the Beach. So we left Palm Desert at 9:30am and arrived at Huntington Beach arount 11:00am. (Click to view our day at the beach),/b> |

We spent the day recovering from the last two days of traveling. Since Gram did not go to Six Flags with us, she planned a tour for her and Kathy for today. The tour started in the morning and went for about 4 hours. They were shown the homes of a number of famous people. They went to the date farm and learned of the "Sex Life" of dates. They also went to the wind mills and learned that their main purpose is to pump water to an underground lake located under Palm Springs.
The rest of us hung out at the condos and swam, slept or just relaxed.

All being said and done, we had a good experience and time, with some fun sights and attractions.
